Battery water

Inverters are very important for power backup in our homes and offices. But it is also important to maintain the battery of the inverter properly, especially the water put in it.

Due to continuous use, the water filled in the battery slowly starts to run out. But most people do not know when and how to refill water in the battery. Today we will tell you the right way to put water in the battery at the right time and maintain it...

Which water should be added?

Only distilled water should be added to the inverter battery. It does not cause any chemical reaction inside the battery and does not harm the battery. Many people add tap water or filtered water, but doing so can deteriorate the performance of the battery. It costs about Rs 150 to 200 to add distilled water, but it helps in increasing the life of the battery.

After how many days should water be put in the battery?

The time to water the battery depends on the type of battery, usage and environment. But generally it is necessary to water the battery between 3 to 6 months. If your inverter is used a lot, check the battery every 3 months and add water if needed.

If the inverter is used less, check the battery every 6 months. Some inverter companies give instructions to add water to the battery, so always follow the guidelines given by the battery manufacturer.

The right way to put water in the battery

1. First turn off the inverter and remove the plug.
2. Carefully open the cap on the battery.
3. Check the water level inside the battery. If the water level is low, then only add distilled water.
4. Add water slowly and avoid overfilling it, as too much water can damage the battery.
5. Close the cap properly and wipe the battery with a clean cloth.
6. Turn the inverter back on and see if it is working properly.

What damage can happen if you don't change the water in the battery?

• The battery may overheat, which can impair the performance of the inverter.
• The battery life may decrease, which may require purchasing a new battery soon.
• In case of a power cut, the inverter will not provide as much backup as it could have.
